Feed2nd Annual WV LIVING Photo Contest Winners
Congratulations to Jonelle Spiker Swiger of Jane Lew, the grand prize winner of our second annual WV LIVING photo contest! Her photo of a candid moment between cousins won her a weekend getaway at The Resort at Glade Springs. On a photo shoot that was going to be a surprise for her mother, Swiger took this photo on a whim and liked it for its quality of light.
With more than 70 framed photos entered in the contest, the beauty of West Virginia was captured in the majestic landscapes and everyday moments that make our state great. All entries are beautifully displayed in a permanent attraction in the Rotunda at The Resort at Glade Springs.
About our Judge
Steve Brightwell has worked as a professional photographer for many years, and he loves his career. “I love weddings and special events—it’s a chance to create great memories!” Steve says. He has worked for everyone from The Greenbrier, Governor Cecil H. Underwood, and the West Virginia State Legislature to musicians and families across the state.
When is the next photo contest?
67CAMARO: Thank you for your comment! The next photo contest will run in the 2012 Spring and Summer issues of WV LIVING magazine and winners will be announced next fall (2012).

I understand the next contest will run in the Spring 2012 issue. A few questions regarding submissions.
First, when must art be submitted by. Second in what format? Can we email high resolution jpg, or do you want it printed and framed in order to consider it? Third, are there size restrictions? Last, are there restrictions or guidelines of any kind? I.e. is an image that's been significantly re-worked in software but still captures the feeling of the state worth submitting?

So what was the verdict on when the next photo contest will be? Anyone know?
WV LIVING will not be running a photo contest this year—a different model for the contest is currently being set up. We will announce the contest on wvliving.com and the WV LIVING Magazine Facebook page when the contest guidelines have been finalized. Thank you for your inquiries!
