Basic Deviled Eggs

Put away the paprika and jazz up this basic deviled egg recipe with interesting toppings.

6 hard-cooked eggs
¼ cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
2 teaspoons yellow onion, finely grated
Salt, to taste
Halve eggs lengthwise. Remove yolks and mash. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Spoon mixture into egg whites. Chill until ready to serve. Top with an assortment of toppings before serving.
