Garlic Cheese Grits

Category: Breakfast, Brunch, Side Dishes
Description:

Cheese grits are an easy side dish to prepare that complements meat, eggs, seafood, or vegetables. Substitute garlic-flavored cheese with smoked Gouda or sharp cheddar.

Number of Servings: 12 to 16 servings
Ingredients:

4 cups chicken broth

3 cups water

2 cups quick-cooking grits

1 (8-ounce) package garlic-flavored cheese

1 stick butter

½ cup milk

Directions:

Bring chicken broth and water to a rapid boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and add grits, continuously stirring so they do not stick to pan. Cook 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened. Add cheese, butter, and milk. (You may want to add more milk if grits are too thick.) Stir well.
