32nd Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival

From the coronation of a queen to a sports breakfast to a grand ball and the Apple Trample 5K, the 32nd annual Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival in Martinsburg, West Virginia, is an event fit for a queen—and just about everyone else, too! The festival kicks off this Thursday, October 13, 2011, and concludes with a variety of events at the Berkeley County Youth Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 16, 2011.

The Apple Harvest royal court will make an appearance on Friday evening for the Coronation of Queen Pomona XXXII and the Queen's Reception. Then festival-goers can tap their toes and clap their hands to the sounds of Souled Out.

Saturday is a full day with a pancake breakfast, a photography contest, arts and crafts, the Apple Trample 5K, and the grand feature parade—not to mention a live apple pie auction, the Panhandlers Square Dance, and the grand ball!

The festivities continue full steam ahead on Sunday with apple eating contests, apple peeling contests, the drawing for the 2011 Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival quilt, and so much more!

And this year year, don't miss celebrity guest appearances by Lisa LoCicero of General Hospital and NFL tight end Anthony Becht of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Get into the spirit of autumn with this fun-filled, family-friendly, action-packed weekend! For 32 years, Martinsburg has been celebrating the apple harvest—and this weekend is your chance to eat, sleep, and dream apples!
