08/14/12Hot Plate Recipe Challenge: Best BurgerIn July 2012, WV LIVING teamed up with WDTV to help Anne Hart of Provence Market Café & Marketplace in Bridgeport track down the best burger recipe in the region for her Hot Plate segment on WDTV, the CBS affiliate for Weston/Clarksburg/Fairmont. Three finalists were chosen, including first and second finalists Carolyn Blakemore of Fairmont with her Firecracker Burger and Howard Tenke of Clarksburg with his Artery Clogger Burger. The winner of the Burger Challenge was Theresa Hill of Fairmont with her Black Bean and Salmon Burger, and she received a Provence Market Café gift card, as well as a one-year subscription to WV LIVING magazine. 07/06/12Blueberry BlissSo many things say "summer"—like juicy watermelon, fireworks, making s'mores at the campfire, hiking and swimming, family reunions, and...blueberries. Depending on the season, blueberries are ripe for the picking anytime between late June and early August and, while it takes little more to enjoy them than packing an entire handful into your mouth, there are so many deliciously delectable things you can do with your plump, fresh blueberries.
